It's official: Sunday night opener

- The Nationals released their official 2008 schedule on Tuesday, confirming what had been expected: the team will open the season at home Sunday night, March 30, against the Braves. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN. A few schedule tweaks: weeknight games will start at 7:10 instead of 7:05 (for a longer pregame show); Friday night games will start at 7:35. Only three weekday afternoon games are on the schedule, including Memorial Day and Labor Day; the Nats will be in Cincinnati on July 4.
- A Tampa judge dropped a domestic violence case against Nats outfielder Elijah Dukes on Tuesday after the woman who filed the complaint failed to show up in court. Dukes' lawyer told the Post that Dukes believes the woman, who watched after his house and car while he was playing winter ball, was responsible for damage to his car and the theft of Christmas presents.
