Nationals Trade Maxwell to Yankees for Minor League Reliever

The Washington Nationals traded OF Justin Maxwell, who was designated for assignment late last week, to the New York Yankees in exchange for right-handed relief pitcher Adam Olbrychowski, according to multiple sources.

Maxwell DFA’d — and Guess the Nationals’ Outfielder!

GAME 146 REVIEW: Maxwell Drops the Hammer on Braves

THE RESULT:  The Washington Nationals will still lose 90-plus games this season, but their performance the last two days may very well cost the Atlanta Braves the N.L. East title.
